“Has the social agenda of the GOP been stalled by homosexual members and/or staffers?” Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council wrote in an e-mail to activists. “Does the party want to represent values voters or Mark Foley and friends?”

Seems the republican party is too tolerant of gays for the likes of Tony Perkins and Dobson etc…  Maybe they should hitch their wagon to Reverend Phelps instead.

If the Repubs actually legislated how they behave in private instead of faking all this moral outrage towards gays to attract all the bigots to the polls I’d be tempted to defend them on this one.  Sigh….  You reap what you sow.

With all the Repug hand wringing about “Family Values” why are so many republicans these days involved in so many moral crises?

Ah well…. Another one bites the dust.

Evidently Bush and his cronies really did completely and utterly ignore the threat from Al Qaida.  Sad.

A three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling by U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks, who said in July that DeLay name had to stay on the ballot even though he quit from Congress and moved to Virginia.

Well now…  I guess the little trick the Republican Party tried to play in Texas just backfired on them.  Now they have to run a candidate that not only has lost valuable fundraising and face time, but also appears to have walked out on his constituents – putting his party above his people.

Too bad.

Lieberman is a target primarily because he supports the Iraq war, but also because he rejects Bush-hatred and often cooperates with Republicans, even though he votes with his party 80 percent of the time. (emphasis added)

Uh – just because someone votes with their party 80 percent of the time does not mean that they are properly representing their constituents.  If the prevailing issue of our times is the war in Iraq, then, Joe Lieberman is completely out step with the general populace – not just the liberal left wing of the Democratic party.

I don’t think anyone takes issue with bi-partisan compromise.  But in this situation, Lieberman is not compromising, he’s just bending over and taking it like his buddies on the other side of the aisle.  He seems all too willing to tow the party line on completely failed policies.  And his motivation seems suspect to me – like he’s simply showing off for the media – trying to get himself charactarized as a “Maverick” like McCain.

I guess nobody can be unhappy with their representatives.  Why bother with elections at all?  Why not just send senators to congress for life?

Evidently, voting for the person that best represents your views and positions is “Hatred-Politics”.
